2 Chainz Promises Raw Confessions In New Memoir 'The Voice In Your Head Is God'

Two-time Grammy-winning rapper, actor, and entrepreneur 2 Chainz is ready to share his most personal story yet. The hip-hop star has announced he will publish a spiritual memoir, "The Voice in Your Head Is God," through Black Privilege Publishing, an imprint of Atria Books, on March 3, 2026. Before he was 2 Chainz, he was Tauheed Epps, an only child raised in College Park, Georgia, by a single mother while his father served time in prison. Though he excelled academically and earned a basketball scholarship, the lure of the streets was never far. By age 15, he had already been arrested, hustling to survive while fighting self-doubt and self-destruction. But even in his lowest moments, 2 Chainz says he felt guided by something bigger: a voice that kept pushing him forward.
2 Chainz Gets Raw About Faith, Struggles, And Mentorship In New Book

In the memoir, the rapper opens up about the spiritual journey that helped him walk away from the trap and discover his true purpose. With unflinching honesty, he reflects on the setbacks, revelations, and mentors who shaped his career, from Ludacris giving him an early break to Lil Wayne co-signing his rise.
“I feel this is my best, closest, and most personal work,” 2 Chainz said in a statement via a press release sent to The Blast. “I want to share the spiritual journey behind my success in a raw, uncut, and motivational way. My mission is to help anyone with a dream and a vision who struggles, or doubts their intuition… I wouldn’t be here now without that voice.”
'The Voice In Your Head Is God' Promises Life Lessons Beyond Fame

"The Voice in Your Head Is God" isn’t just a life story, instead, he says it’s a blueprint. 2 Chainz promises to blend his testimony with lessons in discipline, divine timing, and self-belief, encouraging readers to listen to their inner guidance and trust themselves.
Charlamagne Tha God, founder of Black Privilege Publishing, praised the project, saying, “2 Chainz’s story is a story of perseverance. A story of reinvention. This book will remind you that when GOD tells you to do something, it must be done, even if you have to reinvent yourself a few times to do it.”
2 Chainz Expands Into Film With 'Red Clay'

2 Chainz has been expanding his creative reach far beyond the recording booth. Earlier this year, he debuted "Red Clay," a short film he co-wrote with actor Omar Epps.
The drama centers on Nook, a teenager struggling with his mother’s drug addiction while holding onto dreams of escaping to a better life. The cast includes Christopher Ammanuel, Rutina Wesley, and Jaylan Ragin.
'Red Clay' Carries The Same Mission As His Music

For the rapper, the project carried the same mission that has long fueled his music, and that's using storytelling to inspire. “I tell stories through my music, always hoping people feel empowered to overcome anything,” he told Variety in May. “'Red Clay' is an extension of that. Atlanta is full of resilience, and bringing Nook and Bub’s story to life, everyday folks fighting to survive, means everything to me.”
The film reinforced a recurring theme in 2 Chainz’s work, shining a light on survival and resilience, the same values he promises to explore in his upcoming memoir.
“My inspiration to write this film came from the need to unpack brutal truths, and showcase the complexities of why black and brown communities normalize trauma,” Omar Epps added. “It’s my hope to inspire conversations which motivate people to have more grace, and compassion towards one another.”
2 Chainz To Open Up About Career Highs And Personal Lows

In "The Voice in Your Head Is God," 2 Chainz promises to take readers deep inside the moments that defined his career, but the book won’t shy away from the darker chapters. 2 Chainz says he’ll be just as candid about the hardships, struggles, and doubts that shaped him along the way. “I feel this is my best, closest, and most personal work,” he said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “I want to share the spiritual journey behind my success in a raw, uncut, and motivational way.”
"The Voice in Your Head Is God" will be released on March 3, 2026.
