$2.4M Porsche 911 Turbo S Found on Facebook

Porsches appearing on Facebook Marketplace isn't such a rare sight. But million-dollar Porsches sought after by collectors? Well, it seems Marketplace listings have evolved. Among the endless listings for used furniture and questionable project cars sits a true time capsule: a 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S with just 94 miles on the clock – and a staggering $2,398,900 asking price. Listed in Cleveland, Ohio, this pristine 993-generation Turbo S costs about as much as 10 brand-new Porsche 911 Turbo S models combined. But considering how rare, untouched, and historically significant it is, the price might actually make sense to the right buyer.

The Turbo nameplate has a rich history, with the 993 application being one of the most important. Built by Porsche’s Exclusive Department, the 993 Turbo S marked the pinnacle of the air-cooled 911 before the 996 introduced the water-cooled era. Only 435 units were produced globally, with just 183 destined for North America. Each example came fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six producing 424 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque, courtesy of upgraded K24 turbochargers. Beyond its engine, the Turbo S stood out visually thanks to its Aerokit II bodywork, quad exhaust tips, yellow brake calipers, and massive rear spoiler. This particular car, finished in striking Speed Yellow, captures all of that in what can only be described as showroom-fresh condition.

According to the listing, this Turbo S has covered fewer miles in nearly three decades than most people drive in a week – just 94 miles. It’s no surprise, then, that every inch of it looks untouched. Inside, the black full-leather cabin (including its headliner) appears flawless, accented by extensive carbon-fiber trim and color-matched Speed Yellow inserts on the seats and center console. Every detail remains original, from the metalized finish wheels to the factory floor mats still in place. Included in the sale is the original owner's manual, toolkit, and spare key.
Is Any 911 Worth $2.4 Million?

For most enthusiasts, the answer is an easy no. You could buy a small fleet of modern Porsches – 20 base model 911 Carreras – for the same price. But this Porsche isn't meant for someone after a bargain. The 993 Turbo S represents the end of an era, the last air-cooled turbocharged 911 built at a time when Porsche’s craftsmanship was still largely by hand. Combined with ultra-low production numbers and delivery-mile condition, it might be one of the most desirable 911s the world has ever seen — let alone on Facebook Marketplace. So yes, the $2.4 million price tag may sound outrageous. But for the right Porsche purist, it's an opportunity to own a perfectly preserved piece of Stuttgart history.
