Adonai Mitchell start or sit: Week 16 fantasy football advice
The 3-11 New York Jets travel to New Orleans this Sunday to take on the 4-10 Saints as 5.5-point underdogs. The Jets will run UDFA QB Brady Cook out there again this week. So far he’s thrown one touchdown to five interceptions and hasn’t topped 176 yards passing in his two games. That’s not great.
The good news is that Cook will at least throw the ball and so far Adonai Mitchell has been his No. 1 target. The question is, can you risk starting Mitchell in your fantasy playoffs?
Below, we’ll go over Adonai Mitchell’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 16.
Fantasy Football analysis: Jets, WR, Adonai Mitchell
In two games with Brady Cook at quarterback, Mitchell has put together fantasy finishes of WR73 and WR14. We like the latter of those two of course. Mitchell now has a WR5 and WR14 finish in two of his last three games, with Tyrod Taylor helping him to the Top 5 finish in Week 13.
The Saints have been decent against wide receivers this season, but they have the ninth-worst pass defense DVOA and plenty of good receivers have put strong fantasy numbers against them. Neither team has anything to play for, but Cook and Mitchell sure do. He’s risky, but I’ve seen him used as WR1 enough over the last month to like his chances of another strong game.
