Alexander Isak could get dream deadline day Liverpool move as Newcastle take huge U-turn

Newcastle’s Saudi Arabian owners are willing to sell Alexander Isak to Liverpool on deadline day, talkSPORT understands.
Liverpool remain keen to sign Isak but will not pay as much as £130million.
As reported last week, Isak’s camp have been confident the Swede would get his dream move to Anfield.
Liverpool have purposely not made a second offer as they do not want to be drawn into bidding against themselves.
The Premier League champions’ initial bid of £110m plus add-ons amounting to a British record deal remains on the table.
In what could be a busy final day of the transfer window, Liverpool are also hopeful of landing Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
The Merseysiders have offered £35m for England international Guehi, who is eager to make the move.
Saga over?
It’s the transfer story which has gripped fans all summer, but the Isak saga could finally be put to an end with one huge twist coming on the eve of deadline day.
Newcastle have been adamant that they have no intention of selling their prize asset, who still has three years remaining on his Magpies contract, all summer.
However, the club’s stance on the Swedish striker has now softened less than 24 hours before the summer transfer window deadline.
Newcastle finally managed to sign a centre forward of their own in Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart earlier in the weekend.
But the Newcastle hierarchy may also have caved on their stance due to Isak’s sheer determination to force through a move away.
The 25-year-old missed the club’s pre-season tour of Asia before refusing to play in any matches for Eddie Howe’s side since the 2025/26 season started.
Isak also released a furious statement reiterating his desire not to play for Newcastle, while also accusing the club of ‘broken promises’ regarding a new contract.
However, all of Isak’s efforts to force through a move will be in vain if Newcastle and Liverpool can’t agree a fee.
It’s been suggested that Liverpool could be told to pay £150m for the player, although the Merseyside-based club will not even pay £130m.
Newcastle are also hopeful they can sign Wolves marksman Jorgen Strand Larsen, despite having two bids for the Norwegian rejected.
Wolves insist the player is not for sale and will not even accept an offer as high as £60m for him.
The deadline for clubs in England is set for 7pm on Monday night.
