Allegany boys, Southern girls win tennis matches; Campers, Northern split

OAKLAND — The Allegany boys and Southern girls both won by 3-2 scores on Tuesday.

Allegany and Southern split the boys singles matches. The Rams' Charlie Buchanan edged Traeh Grassi, 6-1, 4-6 (10-8), and the Campers' Rishabh Patel defeated Andrew SanJulian, 6-3, 6-1.

Allegany took two of the three doubles bouts to secure the win.

Southern won the first doubles, as Shane Sisler/Sean Eiswert beat Noah Marker/Eoin Mowbray, 6-4, 7-6 (5).

Allegany's Evan Phisko and Nick Wilt defeated Killian Crooks and Gus Alvarez, 6-1, 6-4, and Lincoln Knight and Lawson Rando bested Josh Webber and Gibson Shaw, 6-2, 6-2.

The Rams and Campers also split the girls singles matches. In No. 1 singles, Southern's Ava Hunt defeated Chloe DeBlock, 7-6, 6-2, and Allegany's Danica Knight beat Morgan Spencer, 3-6, 6-3 (10-2).

Allegany won the No. 1 doubles, but Southern won the next two.

The Campers' Sully Grassi and Milo Kujenga won 6-2, 6-4 over El Hershfeldt and Hailey Harvey.

Southern's Lena Hernandez and Hailey Harsh defeated Chelsie Martinez and Arianna Carr, 6-4, 7-6, and Kendra Reams and Natalie Bell beat Mila Kujenga and Taylor Carrilo, 6-4, 4-6, (10-8).

Allegany, Northern split

CUMBERLAND — The Allegany boys and Northern girls split Monday's tennis match at Allegany College.

The Alco boys won 4-1 while the Northern girls won 5-0.

In boys singles, Brice Roche of the Huskies defeated Marker 7-5, 6-1.

Allegany's Mowbray won 6-0, 6-1 against Nate Wakefield.

In doubles, Alco's Traeh Grassi and Patel defeated Evan Graham and Wyatt Smith, 6-2, 7-6.

Wilt and Phisko of the Campers won 6-2, 6-3 over Brody Savage and Hayden Gring.

Allegany's Rando and Nathan Hockman defeated Aiden Smith and August Cain, 6-1, 6-0.

In girls singles, Northern's Paizley Sines won by forfeit, and the Huskies' Cali Butler defeated Knight, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles, Northern's Saige Frazee and Gillian Britton won 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 over Sully Grassi and Kristina Kucher; Mikayla Frazee and Maddie Smith defeated Martinez and Carr, 6-3, 6-1; and Allie Thrush and Mazzy Morel won 6-2, 6-0 over Alicia Gonzales and Carrillo.

Allegany is at Hedgesville on Thursday at 4 p.m.
