Blue Jays Pitcher Kevin Gausman's Family Guide: Wife Taylor and 2 Daughters

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman is a proud girl dad of two who has had his wife, Taylor, by his side for his journey through the big leagues.

Kevin and Taylor, both 34, got married in 2016 during the baseball star’s time with the Baltimore Orioles. 

Since then, Kevin has played for the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants before signing a five-year, $110 million contract with the Blue Jays in December 2021. 

Along the way, Kevin and Taylor have welcomed two daughters: Sadie, in 2019, and Sutton, in 2021.

When Kevin was figuring out where to sign in 2021, he said the Blue Jays commitment to a family atmosphere helped seal the deal. 

“I’ve been with five teams now. They’re the best I’ve been with,” Kevin told MLB.com in June. “I was also at different points in my career. When I was with the Orioles, I wasn’t paying attention to what the kids’ room is like. That’s one thing that was a big question when we were getting recruited to sign here, what were they going to do for the families?”

Kevin Gausman’s Wife Taylor Gausman

Kevin and Taylor got married in December 2016 at Nottoway Plantation in White Castle, Louisiana. 

“Last night I got to marry the absolute love of my life!” Taylor shared via Instagram at the time. “It seriously couldn’t have been a more beautiful, fun and memorable day for the both of us. We are blessed with amazing friends and family who helped make this night one for the books! I am so happy and excited to officially become Taylor Gausman ❤️.”

Shortly after tying the knot, Taylor wrote an essay explaining that being the wife of a Major League Baseball player didn’t make her marriage any more special than most. 

“My number one most hated question to be asked: What is it like being married to a professional baseball player?!,” she wrote in May 2017. “As if because he is a professional athlete I must ooh and ah over his every move.”

Taylor continued “When someone asks me this I always want to ask them, ‘What is it like being married to your husband?’ Because in all honesty, it’s probably pretty similar to what it’s like being married to mine.”

When Kevin was traded to the Braves in 2018, Taylor admitted it was hard to say goodbye. 

“We feel so blessed to have created so many amazing friendships and memories at Camden Yards with the Orioles and will always cherish our time there,” Taylor wrote via Instagram. “We will miss the fans, the city of Baltimore and especially our Oriole baseball family. Even though it’s hard to imagine a life without wearing orange and black and yelling “O’s” during the national anthem – we are super excited to start a new adventure with the Braves and can’t wait to get to Atlanta! ❤💙”

Taylor has hopped from city-to-city with her husband, including Toronto, where Kevin helped lead the Blue Jays to a World Series berth in 2025. 

“I could not be prouder to be a part of this freaking team in every way!!” Taylor wrote via Instagram after Toronto defeated the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the ALCS. “And I am BEYOND proud of you babe, but it’s still not over yet.”

Kevin Gausman’s Daughter Sadie, 6

Kevin and Taylor welcomed their first daughter, Sadie, in January 2019. 

“On January 23rd this perfect little angel made us parents, I still can’t believe she’s ours 💕,” Taylor shared via Instagram at the time. “We love her more than she will ever know!”

Earlier this year, Kevin celebrated Sadie’s 6th birthday with a carousel of photos from the family’s recent travels. 

“How are you 6 already!?” Kevin shared via Instagram. “Feels like just yesterday we met you for the first time, but also feels like I’ve known you my entire life! I love you so much! My big beautiful girl I can’t even begin to describe how proud I am of you for so many things! You love your friends, you love to challenge yourself, you love your family and especially your sister”

Kevin added, “You are completely and uniquely your own person and I love that about you! I hope you have a great Birthday my sweet Sadie Grace! ❤️❤️”

Kevin recently explained how fatherhood has helped him look at the world differently, particularly when it comes to the sport that he loves. 

“For me, it puts more perspective into my life in general,” he told MLB.com in June. “It’s hard. We do not see our kids very often. It’s hard, and it’s especially hard on our wives, just with how much we play. Unless you’re travelling everywhere with us — which is really hard to do, as you know — it’s just hard to do that. The biggest thing it helped me with is to realize that this is just a game. That puts things into perspective.”

Kevin Gausman’s Daughter Sutton, 4

Kevin and Taylor announced the arrival of their second daughter, Sutton, in August 2021. 

“Our sweet little Sutton was born August 6th and we are so in love 🤍,” Taylor shared via Instagram. “We couldn’t be more proud to add this beautiful girl to our family. So thankful for our girls and my beyond amazing husband 🤍.”

Kevin celebrated Sutton’s 3rd birthday in August 2023 with a carousel of photos on social media. 

“Happy Birthday to my sweet baby girl Sutton!” he wrote via Instagram. “You is crazy girl! But in the best way possible! We love watching you become your own person and even find your own voice( even though it’s very loud). You have such a fun personality and I can’t wait for all the memories we will make together! Love you Sutton! ❤️❤️❤️❤️”

Kevin gushed about both of his girls in honor of National Daughters Day in September 2023. 

“Can’t imagine my life without the endless amounts of love that I get from the two of you,” Kevin shared via Instagram. “I am so lucky I get to be your Dad!”

Taylor commented, “Daddys girls ❤️❤️❤️.”
