Man City won’t just be looking at Brighton this weekend but also at the tough games ahead in a couple of weeks: Man United on the 14th September and a week later, Arsenal.

Brighton won’t make it easy for City to bounce back

Man City are still odds-on to win this despite their 2-0 loss to Tottenham last weekend.

They do face a Brighton side who have yet to win this term, drawing to Fulham and losing to Everton so far.

City looked back to their best when showing up Wolves at the Molineux to win 4-0.

Though their issues at the back show they may never reach the feats they made before where they could control the game from their barrage of attacking play.

Brighton are used to also playing on the backfoot, so while City are favourites there will be some big moments in this game that highlights City’s weaknesses.

And last year City didn’t win at all against Brighton losing 2-1 in this fixture and then drawing 2-2 at the Etihad.

That said, City are still expected to win but may have to settle to do so in a bit of a thriller with lots of goals expected for the neutrals to enjoy.

One of the main reasons for this is the return of Rodri to the starting lineup, who makes an incredible difference to this side and Phil Foden is also set to make a comeback.

Haaland has now scored five goals in five appearances against Brighton and that’s enough to see him get into the goals once again.
