It’s no surprise to see Bulgaria such a high price just to win against Spain, the 2nd ranked team in the world.

In Spain’s last game, in June, they faced Portugal in the Nations League Final drawing 2-2 before losing 5-3 on penalties.

Prior to that they beat France 5-4, in the quarters they drew twice to the Netherlands 5-5 on aggregate before winning on penalties.

They’ve been clinical throughout and have the ability to dominate this game but Bulgaria will relish the challenge.

Spain goals galore

Bulgaria’s last few games haven’t shown much in the way of any slight potential of causing an upset.

They lost 4-2 to Ireland across two games in the Nations League to Ireland, drew 2-2 to Cyprus and lost 4-0 to Greece.

It seems this could be another high scoring affair for Spain who do not let up against teams when already winning 2/3-0.

In the last couple of years there’s been 4-1 and 5-1 scorelines in the Euros, friendlies and in the Euro qualifiers they beat Georgia 7-1 – almost two years ago to the day.

They beat Cyprus four days later 6-0 and clearly treat these kind of qualifiers as a chance to really showcase what they can do with the ball.

Lamine Yamal to pull the strings

Yamal has already got four goal involvements under his belt this season for Barcelona as the 18-year-old is set to become a consistent goalscorer and playmaker.

Last season he scored nine goals in 35 appearances for the La Liga side but looks set to really build on that this year which will also mean more goal involvements for Spain too.

He assisted four and scored one in the Euros for Spain last year and another two in the qualifiers, and with the World Cup being a big dream for this player you can imagine he will keep that form going with plenty of chances created and taken on by the winger.
