Alcaraz sealed revenge against Sinner following his Wimbledon loss in July to win the sixth Grand Slam title of his already stunning career.

And US Open victory has seen him join a list of legends to make even more history.

Alcaraz has become the seventh man in the Open Era to win three different Grand Slam titles on at least two occasions.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Pete Sampras, Ivan Lendl and Stefan Edberg are also in the esteemed collective.

US Open title number two sits alongside his pairs of French Open and Wimbledon triumphs.

At the beginning of his celebrations, Alcaraz once again performed a golf swing, having previously done so in front of Rory McIlroy.

The 22-year-old has won at least two Grand Slams for the second year in a row and done so with another excellent performance.

What has Alcaraz achieved with his US Open final win?

Alcaraz is the third player in Open Era history win multiple titles in the US Open men’s singles event before turning 23.

The legendary John McEnroe and Sampras also achieved this feat.

In addition, Alcaraz has won the second-most Grand Slams before the age of 23 with six.

His is now level with compatriot Nadal and just one behind Bjorn Borg, who he will equal if he wins the Australian Open in January.

Furthermore, Alcaraz has become the first player to win more than one Grand Slam title on all three surfaces before the age of 23.

This timeframe began in 1978 when the US Open switched to a hard court surface.

To add the icing on the cake, Alcaraz is the second player in history to beat the world ATP no. 1 in multiple Grand Slam finals in a season.

Nadal was first to do so against Federer at the French Open and Wimbledon in 2008.

And the win against Sinner on Sunday means he has now taken top spot in the worldwide rankings.

The US Open final was just the latest chapter in their rivalry, one that is already beginning to dominate the men’s singles landscape.

It followed their thrilling five-set French Open final encounter in June that lasted a record five hours and 29 minutes.

Alcaraz won after saving championship points, but Sinner made it 1-1 in Grand Slam showpieces in 2025 at Wimbledon.

However, Alcaraz is now 10-5 against the Italian, with US Open glory just the latest achievement to add to his extensive list of accolades.
