Champions League Outright Tips

  • Barcelona to win @ 6/1
  • Paris Saint-Germain to win @ 5/1
  • Napoli to win @ 25/1

Barcelona to win @ 6/1

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona emerged as last season’s favourites heading into the knockout stages as they eased past Benfica and Borussia Dortmund on their way to the semi-finals.

It proved to be an epic last-four encounter with Inter Milan, but one in which the Blaugrana fell to a 7-6 aggregate defeat in extra-time of the second leg against the Nerazzurri.

Looking to learn from semi-final heartbreak, Barca appear well placed to go a couple of hurdles better this time around and lift the trophy.

Blessed with one of the best attacking line-ups in the world, with the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski among their ranks, the Catalans can beat any side in this competition on their day.

A youthful side who have their best years ahead of them, Barca are good value at 6/1 for the title this time around.

Paris Saint-Germain to win @ 5/1

Last season’s dark horses and the ones who went on to stun Inter 5-0 in the final, Paris Saint-Germain will have many backers to defend their European crown this term.

Moving on from the star individuals Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, manager Luis Enrique has managed to foster more of a team ethos at the Parc des Princes.

Taking some of his Barcelona DNA, the former Blaugrana player and manager has PSG playing exciting, possession-based football that proved so effective in the Champions League last season.

In Desire Doue, the Parisians have one of the best rising stars in the game and PSG, at odds of 5/1, should certainly be in the mix come the business end of the tournament this term.

Napoli to win @ 25/1

Looking at a potential outsider to lift the trophy this season, Italian champions Napoli look to be great value at 25/1.

Winning the Serie A title last term ahead of the other giants in the Italian top-flight, Napoli invested in top talent over the summer to give themselves a fighting chance of staying ahead of the pack domestically, while also challenging in Europe.

With the likes of midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and defender Sam Beukema joining the Azzurri, Napoli have added quality to their squad.

Having the experience of manager Antonio Conte in the dugout is another reason why Napoli could cause a shock this season and claim a first European trophy since lifting the UEFA Cup back in 1989.
