There is reportedly more to Charlie Sheen than his scandals and financial crisis!

Sources recently applauded the controversial actor for his charitable nature, claiming he supported numerous non-profit organizations and key causes during his heyday. The entertainer earned a significant fortune as Charlie Harper on the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men."

Although he was once lauded as the highest-paid actor on TV, Charlie Sheen's net worth and fame went downhill for various scandals, substance abuse issues, and more unflattering allegations.

According to new reports, Sheen is set to launch a memoir and Netflix documentary centered around his highs and lows. These projects will cover his life, but sources noted they won't showcase Sheen's charitable side.

They claimed the actor donated between $26 to $30 million to various charities during the height of his fame. Sheen reportedly chose organizations that supported key causes like cancer research, autism, and projects that supported people without homes.

Sources told TMZ that these donations went under the radar because Sheen told his team not to speak about his charitable nature. They noted he donated his fortune anonymously because he wasn't seeking recognition for his support.

Sheen could support various charities during his heyday because he earned a significant sum as the highest-paid actor on TV. CelebrityNetWorth claimed his net worth was around $150 million thanks to his time on the CBS sitcom.

The entertainer reportedly made $1.25 million per episode before his salary increased to around $2 million in later seasons. However, his time on the hit show ended in 2011 when he got into a public dispute with the program's creator, Chuck Lorre.

Now, Sheen's net worth has fallen to $3 million after spending his fortune on child support payments and various legal disputes. His turbulent lifestyle, filled with substance abuse issues and domestic violence allegations, further depleted his wealth.

Sheen's exit from the CBS show was the first of many unfortunate events. He lost a significant sum of his wealth to spousal support payments for his ex-wives, Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller. He initially gave them $110,000 monthly before September 2016.

After revealing his dire financial state, the actor had the monthly payments reduced to $25,000. Sheen pleaded his case in March 2016, noting his monthly income had dropped from $600,000 to around $167,000.

Sheen claimed his finances had taken a beating after compensating the people who threatened to publicize his HIV status. He reportedly spent $10 million settling this issue and echoed similar sentiments about his dire financial situation in 2018, stressing that he could not afford his child support payments.

In his 2018 filing, Sheen claimed he had less than $10 million to his name and was broke because he could not find work. He alleged that his ability to earn a living had been negatively impacted after getting "blacklisted from many aspects of the entertainment industry."

A year later, Sheen faced another hurdle when he nearly lost his primary Los Angeles residence to foreclosure. He initially listed the home for sale in 2018 for $10 million but slashed the asking price to $7.99 million. The property sold for $6.6 million in January 2020.

After leaving the Los Angeles home, Sheen lived with his parents before moving into a rented Malibu mobile home park trailer. He got back on his feet in June 2022, when he began living in a modest Malibu home, reportedly renting it for over $16,000 monthly.

Sheen turned 60 on Wednesday, September 3, but addressed his new age in an interview before the big day. The Blast covered the story, reporting that he reflected on his life and future. He claimed he felt "pretty good" for a man his age without the bad knees and other health problems.

Although he avoided the typical ordeals linked to the 60s, Sheen confessed that he battled with a bad shoulder. Nonetheless, he was grateful for his new age and a new chapter after having a scandalous past that saw him apologizing to those he hurt in his 50s.

Sheen transformed his life in 2017 by embracing sobriety and striving to become the father his children deserved. He noted it was still not easy forgiving himself for his past mistakes; however, he persevered through his moments of shame and doubts.

Can Charlie Sheen revamp his image with his upcoming memoir and Netflix documentary?
