Conor McGregor watches on in horror as extreme weather tears through BKFC event causing scaffolding to collapse

BKFC cancelled their outdoor event in Budva, Montenegro, on Saturday night due to extreme weather.

The 11-fight card was initially pushed back after the heavens opened at the Top Hill Open Air nightclub.

A wild storm tore through BKFC Budva

When the action eventually got underway, a wild storm broke out, forcing organisers to abandon the show before the main event and co-feature attraction took place.

Footage of the moment the BKFC Fight Night was cut short shows people running for the exit, while scaffolding crashes down around them.

It appears some of the structure may have struck crew members as the camera pans over to multiple people lying on the ground.

BKFC co-owner Conor McGregor was in attendance and recalled what he saw when the rain began to pour.

“Budva brought the thunder, baby,” McGregor said in a now-deleted Instagram video.

“That was the maddest thing ever. Oh my God.

“I’m sitting there, the thing [venue] starts rumbling and shaking, and I wasn’t waiting…

“I know this ain’t safe. I am in this ring, Montenegro local, big KO finish.

“We’re in the ring about to celebrate, and the storm just erupted out of nowhere. Mother nature…

“I got out of there; the heavens were roaring.”

Before the event got canned, Germany’s Dominik Estorer (5-2) had knocked out Damjan Savanovic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The remaining two fights, Petar Razov vs Bojan Kosednar and Vaso Bakocevic vs Wilhelm Ott, are now expected to be rebooked for another show.

BKFC have not released a statement since their initial update on the postponement of the event, which read: “Due to extreme inclement weather, BKFC Fight Night Budva from Budva, Montenegro will air via tape delay at a later, to-be-determined date on The BKFC App.

“BKFC will make a formal announcement when the event is available to our fans.”

The nine fights that took place aren’t available to watch at the time of writing, although clips have been uploaded on social media.
