Could Kliff Kingsbury be Eagles' next offensive coordinator?
Could Kliff Kingsbury soon be facing the Washington Commanders twice per season? The Philadelphia Eagles fired offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo on Tuesday and will be looking for their fifth offensive coordinator since Nick Sirianni became head coach in 2021.
Kingsbury, who had been offensive coordinator for the Commanders for the past two seasons, mutually parted ways with the organization last week after a disappointing 5-12 season. Washington dealt with injuries all season, including to quarterback Jayden Daniels, one year after he led the offense to a 12-5 season and an appearance in the NFC Championship Game.
For now, Kingsbury has his sights set on a head coaching job, having already interviewed with the Baltimore Ravens and with interest from other teams, including the Tennessee Titans. But if Kingsbury doesn't land a head coaching job, several teams will need offensive coordinators, including the Eagles.
Kingsbury is familiar with Philadelphia. In addition to facing the Eagles five times over the past two seasons with Washington, he actually interviewed with them in January 2024. While the Eagles chose Kellen Moore then, things could be different this time around. Philadelphia wants a proven offensive mind after a frustrating season, specifically on the offensive side of the ball.
The #Eagles interviewed USC senior offensive analyst Kliff Kingsbury for their offensive coordinator job today, sources say. Kingsbury recently interviewed with the #Bears, who hired Shane Waldron as OC.

Kingsbury's offense could rejuvenate quarterback Jalen Hurts, minimizing his weaknesses and keeping him in shotgun, where he's most comfortable.
Philadelphia will reportedly cast a wide net, but Kingsbury, Kevin Stefanski (if he doesn't land a head coaching job), Rams assistant Nate Scheelhaase, Brian Daboll and Todd Monken could all be among the leading contenders.
Kingsbury's understudy, David Blough, replaced him as Washington's offensive coordinator.
