Erin Krakow Teases New Tyler Hynes' Hallmark Movie Is What Fans Are ‘Craving’
Fans have been clamoring for Erin Krakow and Tyler Hynes to reunite onscreen and Hallmark’s Christmas Above the Clouds is an answer to their prayers.
Krakow, 41, exclusively told Us Weekly that the pair’s new holiday rom-com will give fans “a delicious taste of what they’ve been craving.”
“There’s certainly no shortage of romance throughout this film,” she teased.
While Krakow said it was “so fun to get to see these characters connecting at various times in their lives,” she hinted fans of her and Hynes’ 2021 hit It Was Always You might be left yearning for more.

“I don’t think they’ll be satisfied, because I think that our fans are just always wanting more,” Krakow confessed. “I have a funny feeling that even by the end of this movie, even after multiple kisses and romantic scenes, there will still be a desire for more, because that’s just the way our fans are, and that’s why we love them.”
Krakow and Hynes, 39, first worked together in It Was Always You playing love interests Elizabeth and David. In the film, Elizabeth’s (Krakow) engagement plans get shaken up after her fiancé’s brother, David (Hynes), returns home and makes her second guess her life trajectory.
After four years of fans asking for a sequel, the pair teamed back up for Christmas Above the Clouds, which premieres on Saturday, November 7. While the movie is not a follow-up of It Was Always You, it does bring the actors’ comedy and connection back to life.

“There’s plenty of laughter,” Krakow told Us of her and Hynes’ on-screen dynamic this time around. “There were, you know, little moments of connection that you’ll see throughout that just kind of fill the space between the lines. That was driven, I think, by our connection and just being very present with each other.”
Christmas Above the Clouds follows workaholic CEO Ella Neezer (Krakow) as she’s haunted by her past, present and future while trying to skip Christmas on a flight to Australia. In addition to navigating three quirky ghosts who hold a mirror up to her life, Ella is seated next to her ex-fiancé Jake (Hynes) on the flight, which reminds her exactly what she lost.
The movie also has several nods to Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, one of which is the lead being named Ella Neezer, like the 1843 iconic bah humbug character Ebenezer Scrooge.
Tyler Hynes Had 2 New Hallmark Holiday Movies — Are They His Best Ever?
“Ella Neezer, I just think is so clever and silly and a great way to set the tone for this movie,” Krakow told Us. “Which really does embrace the Dickensian spirit, but it does so with a wink and a nod.”
The When Calls the Heart actress further explained that her and Hynes’ new movie will make viewers think about their own choices.
“Something that I really love about this movie is we’re not talking about a woman who is put in a position where she just has to choose between her dream job and her dream man,” Krakow said. “There’s a subtlety to it where she’s getting to really reflect on her life’s choices and reassess her priorities and responsibilities and find a way to use them for good.”

She added, “It’s sort of about finding work life balance and using her successes to create a better world for those she knows in her circle. And I really like that. I think that there’s a subtlety to it that is pretty magical in this movie.”
When it comes to what’s next for Krakow and Hynes, the actress told Us that “we can all agree it had just been too long” since they worked side by side. That being said, Krakow is rooting for a shorter span between her and Hynes’ next project.
“There’s been this passionate craving, or desire for the two of us to work together again, and so I’m thrilled that we were able to deliver on this project,” she told Us. “I hope there are many more in our future.”
Christmas Above the Clouds premieres on Hallmark Channel Saturday, November 8, at 8 p.m. ET.
