Fans are divided over whether Rich Eisen took a tongue-in-cheek jab at Harrison Butker’s politics during the broadcast

The booth has jokes.

During YouTube’s first-ever NFL broadcast, fans believed that NFL Network host and play-by-play commentator Rich Eisen delivered a playful one-liner aimed at Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker.

Butker lined up for the extra point to tie the game at 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers, but he pushed it right.

Eisen seemingly took a harmless jab at the three-time Super Bowl champion.

“Harrison Butker is, interestingly enough, wide-right,” Eisen joked.

A proud conservative, Butker has never shied away from publicly sharing his political views.

Do we know for sure if Eisen was targeting Butker’s politics with the call? Of course not — and we never will.

The fans couldn’t decide whether Eisen was referring to Butker’s politics or not. Some were happy, others were upset.

“Rich Eisen with one of the best calls of all time,” one fan wrote on X.

“A+ joke by the way,” another added.

“Rich Eisen from the rafters!!!! Loved it!! Regardless of political affiliation, that’s a great joke on the fly from one of the goats,” more chimed in.

“Wow, Rich Eisen threw shade at Butker big time. Pretty unprofessional man,” one fan said.

Eisen’s play on words towards Butker or not, wasn’t the only thing the broadcaster was under heat for.

He routinely mixed up players on the call, saying the wrong name a handful of times. It was very noticeable.

The fans were fed up.

“Somebody tell rich eisen that Tyler Conklin is actually not Will Dissly,” one fan said on X.

“I’d be okay if Rich Eisen never called an NFL game again. Absolutely brutal,” another added.
