Gareth Southgate lands shock new job

Gareth Southgate is reportedly set to host a new BBC show.
The former England manager has secured a surprise career change over a year on from his Three Lions exit.
Southgate stepped down after Euro 2024 following eight years in charge of the national team.
He made the decision to leave the role after England’s defeat to Spain in the final in Berlin.
In the 13 months since, he has yet to make a return to football either as a manager or pundit.
The BBC have now handed him a presenting role on an upcoming show, according to The Sun.
‘One Of A Kind’ will see Southgate interviewing successful figures from industry.
He is set to be paid around £50,000 for hosting the podcast-style show for BBC Sounds, the report adds.
It comes after the 54-year-old hinted at a move away from football earlier this month.
Addressing a potential return to the dugout, he said: “You can’t say never to anything, but it’s not something I’m actively looking at.”
Southgate added: “I’m enjoying my life. I’ve got quite a lot on.
“I’m in the middle of writing a book and I’ve got several business interests. I do some work on leadership, but I’ve also got time to travel and play a bit of golf.”
Meanwhile, he appeared to confirm a move away from sport earlier this year.
Back in April, Southgate changed his job title to ‘company director’ on the Companies House listing for MAS Investment Holdings Limited.
The firm manages his property portfolio, which is understood to be worth £6.2million.
Prior to his new presenting role, Southgate spent eight years as England boss between 2016 and 2024.
After replacing Sam Allardyce, he took charge of 102 matches, the third most of any manager in Three Lions history.
England won 64 of those fixtures as well as reaching consecutive finals at the Euros.
In doing so in Germany last summer, they became the first senior England men’s side to reach a major tournament final overseas.
Southgate also won 57 caps for his country as a player, scoring twice.
