Jack Draper ruled out for rest of 2025 season with British star in danger of falling out of top ten

Jack Draper will miss the rest of 2025 following the injury he sustained at the US Open.

The Brit withdrew from the final Grand Slam tournament of the year with an arm injury just hours before his second round clash against Zizou Bergs.

Draper beat Federico Agustin Gomez in the first round in what was his first singles match since Wimbledon due to upper arm bruising.

With the 2025 ATP season beginning to approach its latter stages, the 23-year-old announced he will play no further part on the tour.

What has Jack Draper said about his season-ending injury?

“Hi guys an update from me…,” he commented on his social media.

“Unfortunately the injury to my arm is something to I have to rest and means I’ll be sitting out the rest of 2025.

“It is very difficult for me to accept as I was building some incredible momentum this year and playing some great stuff.

“However I’ve been through this before, and I always come back stronger as I’m so motivated to fulfil my potential as a player.

“Huge thanks to everyone who backs me to do well and supports me on my journey.

“Can’t wait to get back out there and give it my all. See you soon!”

Now that Draper’s season has concluded, he looks set to drop out of the world top ten by the end of 2025.

The three-time ATP title winner is currently seventh in the rankings, which are now led by Carlos Alcaraz after his US Open final win.

Draper will also miss out on the season-ending ATP finals, which take place in Turin in November.

Players who finish in the top eight of the Race To Turin standings at the end of the ATP 250 tournaments in Athens and Metz qualify.

Draper is currently ninth, so will not feature in Italy for the ATP finals.

How did Draper do in 2025?

At the Australian Open, Draper reached the fourth round, but retired against Alcaraz when two sets down with an injury.

However, he bounced back at Indian Wells as he beat Holger Rune in the final to win the first ATP 1000 title of his career.

Draper then reached the Madrid Open final, but lost to Casper Ruud.

A fourth round exit at the French Open was followed by defeat in the second round of Wimbledon.

Draper was absent for almost two months before his arrival at the US Open – a year after he reached the semi-finals.
