Jordon Hudson Returns to Cheerleading Roots After North Carolina Ends Drought
Jordon Hudson celebrated North Carolina football ending their lengthy losing streak by returning to her roots.
Hudson, 24, showed off her cheerleading skills in a video posted via Instagram on Monday, November 3.
“When you don’t have cheer shoes….Just wear some J’s 🤣,” cheerleading coach Kris Murray wrote alongside the clip, which saw Hudson impressively flipped into the air while wearing Air Jordans instead of traditional cheerleading footwear.
Hudson commented, “#AirJordOn?”

“Goated hashtag,” Murray responded, to which Hudson said, “I’m still cackling.”
Hudson won a Division III cheerleading national championship at Bridgewater State in 2021.
The cheerleading video of Hudson was posted just days after the University of North Carolina football team, coached by Hudson’s boyfriend, Bill Belichick, defeated Syracuse 27-10 on Friday, October 31.
North Carolina’s victory marked the first for the team since a September 13 win over Richmond. The Tar Heels had lost four consecutive games to the University of Central Florida, Clemson, California and Virginia.
Belichick, 73, and North Carolina return to action when they host Stanford on Saturday, November 8.
Hudson broke a lengthy social media hiatus on Saturday, November 1, when she shared her tongue-in-cheek Halloween costume. To celebrate the holiday, Hudson wrote the same outfit she wore in a now-infamous interview Belichick gave to CBS Sunday Morning in April.
“The costume I never seem to be able to take off,” Hudson captioned the Instagram post.
While her cheerleading days are mostly behind her, Hudson has continued to be a vocal supporter of her alma mater.
In October 2024, Hudson took to social media after Kiss 108 DJ Winnie Akoury dissed Hudson’s cheerleading credentials.
“She was Bridgewater State’s cheerleader, which is Division III, which isn’t even like competition level,” Akoury said at the time. “I could have been a Bridgewater State cheerleader!”
Hudson responded by tagging Akoury on Instagram and writing, “I would like to extend an invitation for you to attend the winter try-out for the 8x National Champion Cheerleading Program. And, since you are SO confident that you could make the team, (as you stated LIVE on the air (twice)); I’d love for you to bring a @Kiss108 camera crew to film your undeniable domination of our pathetic little DIII cheerleading program. 🤗.”
In a separate post, Hudson shared a photo of Belichick wearing a Bridgewater State national champions t-shirt. Belichick even held up one of his hands to mimic a bear claw, a nod to Bridgewater State’s mascot.
“@billbelichick is on team @bsu_cheerleading,” Hudson captioned the picture. “#DontPokeTheBearS #DemandingRespect.”
Before Jordon Hudson, Inside Bill Belichick's Breakup From Linda Holliday
Belichick was noticeably relieved after North Carolina earned their first ACC conference win by taking down Syracuse on Friday.
“The guys just kept grinding,” Belichick told ESPN’s Paul Carcaterra after the game. “Once we got to the fourth quarter, we were able to run the ball and grind it out.”
In a locker room video posted by Carolina Athletics on social media, Belichick praised his team for their work ethic.
“Let’s get used to it. We’re gonna win a lot more games around here, OK,” Belichick said. “But you can see the potential we have. We just gotta keep working, keep grinding, fix a few little things here and there, and things are gonna be a lot different going forward.”
