‘Just one punch’ – Terence Crawford doesn’t hesitate in astounding Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis prediction

Terence Crawford is confident Gervonta Davis will struggle to deal with Jake Paul due to their huge size difference.

Paul will take on WBA lightweight world champion Davis in the biggest fight of his career as a YouTuber-turned-boxer on November 14.

Davis and Paul are dangerously far apart in size

The fight is hugely controversial given Paul has fought in excess of 200lbs and stands at 6ft 1ins, while ‘Tank’ fights in the 130lbs division and is far smaller at 5ft 5ins tall.

Despite the questionable disparity, the showdown is set to go ahead and will likely generate huge commercial interest given Davis’ undefeated record in the sport.

In many boxing experts’ views, Davis would be a favourite to taste victory given his vastly superior boxing skills.

But many believe size will matter on the night, with one of those being pound-for-pound star Crawford.

‘Bud’, who faces Canelo Alvarez in a blockbuster clash of his own this month, expects Paul will shock the world and get the job done.

He said on the Full Send podcast: “Jake is too big for Tank. In reality he’s way too big for Tank.

“Tank is very talented, can punch hard and is explosive. Jake can punch with that right hand.

“I’ve seen it up close and personal. The dude is big, he’s not as slow as people think he is and he can punch.

“Honestly I think Jake by youth. There ain’t no winner, it’s an exhibition, but Jake is too big.

“If they really go at it, he’s too big. Tank isn’t going to be able to get in from that jab. Jake land one good punch on Tank it’s over with.”

Could Gervonta Davis lost his undefeated record to Jake Paul?

Davis is currently unbeaten but surprisingly a test with Paul could be more difficult than expected due to the vast size difference.

But it is currently unclear whether the bout will count on his record, given sanctioning could be unlikely as a result of their vastly different weights.

Paul has already suggested the rules could be either professional or in adapted exhibition format subject to clearance from the board.

The pair were set to meet earlier in the year, but the bout was derailed with Davis drawing with Lamont Roach.

And the ‘Problem Child’ has used that to fuel him with confidence that he can take victory.

But Crawford doesn’t believe he will have the chance, as he expects it to not be an authentic fight.

He added: “I think it’s not a real fight. It can’t be a real fight because they’re not on the same weight so it be more of an exhibition.

“I think they’re going to go in there and spar. I don’t think it’s going to be, ‘You try to go kill me, and I’m trying to kill you.’

“It’s like, ‘Let’s go in there and get this money.’ It’s more of a business tactic than anything.”
