Lily James is stepping into a bold new chapter with a captivating film on the horizon, dazzling in several lustrous lingerie looks while posing for Defined Magazine‘s September issue.

James, 36, donned a slicked back hairstyle while clad in a corset-style bodysuit, completing her edgy ensemble with a long leather trend coat as she crossed her legs for the magazine’s cover, released on Monday, September 8.

“​​With her new film Swiped, Lily steps into the role of Whitney Wolfe Herd, exploring resilience, innovation, and the power of women shaping change,” the magazine’s Instagram caption read. “In our cover story, she opens up about channeling adversity into action, building her own production company, and finding freedom through storytelling.”

The actress also wowed in a high-shine set for another photo from the shoot, showing off her curves in a structured satin bralette paired with glossy high-waisted briefs and a luxe faux fur coat draped effortlessly over her shoulders.

James yet again delivered when she modeled a lace black corset with a sheer bodice and beaded feather-like accessories, complete with black garters, thigh-high stockings and a dramatic veil.

The London-based star has been forging her own path in Hollywood, launching a production company after earning an Emmy nomination for portraying Pamela Anderson in TV series Pam & Tommy.

James stars as Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd in Swiped, which follows Herd’s journey to becoming the youngest female self-made billionaire after making her mark in the dating app world.

“Dating apps are so a part of our culture, whether you like it or not — they determine and dictate a lot of how we meet people,” James told the magazine. “So learning about the story of this woman who was a part of that inception, not only at Bumble but also Tinder, and this phenomenal journey of growth she goes through to become such a formidable, innovative entrepreneur, and facing real adversity and challenges, which she overcame, I found deeply inspiring.”

The movie is slated to have its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday, September 9, and debuts on September 19 via Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ in other territories.
