Lincoln Nautilus And Navigator Bring Wellness Tech To Stressed-Out Americans

Keep calm and drive a Lincoln

If you’re the type of driver who appreciates a quiet, relaxing drive over a face-paced, exhilarating one, you could do worse than go knocking on Lincoln’s door. Ford’s luxury arm remains committed to the old-school idea of luxury, where plush seating and compliant suspensions are more important than ultimate performance.

For Nautilus and Navigator drivers, Lincoln has just introduced another layer to its in-car Rejuvenate system, known as the Forest Meditation theme. Using a combination of calming visuals and acoustics, the theme is designed to melt away your stress, turning your SUV’s interior into a sanctuary when stationary. Is it worth the hype? Let’s find out.

A Multi-Sensory Experience

The Lincoln Rejuvenate system is an immersive, in-vehicle experience that can calm you down when the car is parked. It makes full use of the latest dashboard-spanning displays and ambient lighting in modern Lincolns, and the entire performance is aimed at reducing stress. With 70% of Americans experiencing daily stress, Lincoln says that over a third of its customers use the Rejuvenation system regularly.

The new Forest Meditation theme brings the total number of themes to four. It was created in collaboration with Calm, a mental health and wellness company. Lincoln even went so far as to commission an engineering study with Purdue University that demonstrates the system’s short-term relaxation benefits.

The Forest Meditation theme sounds exactly like what it is: Natural settings take over all the displays, with serene forest environments and accompanying music. There’s even a Mystic Forest fragrance, and Tamara Levitt of Calm narrates the 5- or 10-minute meditation session.

The new Forest Meditation theme joins three other existing themes: Aurora Borealis, Elements, and Waterfall Meditation. It’s standard on the 2025 Navigator and optional on the 2025 Nautilus, and can be accessed via an over-the-air update. Furthermore, Lincoln clients get a one-year subscription to Calm, where they can access multiple meditations and mindfulness exercises.

Automotive Wellness Technologies Are On The Rise

According to a survey conducted by YouGov last year, U.S. consumers are interested in many technologies that promote health and wellness, with air quality monitoring, fatigue detection systems, and noise cancelation leading the way. Each day, Americans spend an average of 60.7 minutes behind the wheel, according to a 2023 survey by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety—over a year, that adds up, so it figures that car technologies promoting wellness are gaining in popularity.

These are some of the technologies that can reduce stress when stationary or make commuting less taxing:

Earlier this year, Polestar explained how driver-monitoring technologies can work with artificial intelligence to pick up a negative change in a driver’s mood. The car can then proactively adjust the lighting, audio, or seat massage to counter this.

For many people, anything that makes the daily commute easier takes priority over driving enjoyment, and Lincoln is one of the brands appealing to this group.
