Love Is Blind’s Jordan Says Ex Sparkle Megan Still Checks ‘All My Boxes'

Jordan Keltner was prepared to walk down the aisle on season 9 of Love Is Blind when his then-fiancée, “Sparkle” Megan Walerius, called off their wedding.

“We spent that last week together, and I think she really gave it her all, and she waited until the last possible second,” Jordan, the 30-year-old single father, recalled to Us Weekly during an exclusive interview. “We did commit to not leaving each other at the altar. I know that’s what a lot of people want to see, but we still cared so deeply for each other, and we just didn’t want our lives to be put on stage like that, especially with my son in attendance. I think she made up her mind that Friday morning. The wedding was on a Saturday, and during the filming, she said she woke up crying at 4:30 in the morning and that’s when she knew it wasn’t going to work for her.”

Jordan told Us that he was ready to say “I do,” noting that the idea that opposites attract applies to him and Megan, 35. “I’m a chronic underthinker. I think Megan’s a chronic overthinker. That’s where the worlds didn’t collide,” he said. “But yeah, she checks all my boxes. She still does.”

However, he acknowledged: “There’s no right or wrong answer. She did what was right for her, which [ultimately] was right for me and my family. And there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Megan ended things with Jordan while expressing concerns about being a priority in his life.

“I had a very demanding job at the time. The film schedule is very demanding. Being a father is demanding,” Jordan told Us, explaining that working in order to pay his bills had to be his No. 1 priority at the time. “At the end of the day, production, [my son] Luca and Megan got to split the rest. And Megan got the short end of the stick. She wasn’t OK with that. … I was running on [empty].”

When asked whether he and Megan might have been able to make things work if they met at a different time, he admitted: “There’s chemistry. We have such strong chemistry. I just think we’re on different playing fields. and nothing wrong with that.”

During a separate chat with Us, Megan didn’t completely agree.

“I think we’re a little misaligned there,” she told Us. “But it’s hard to say. You never know — had we met two years down the line [what could have happened]. I think he quit his job and is doing [social media] influencing full time. But at that moment in time, it was really hard. But I also think we’re two very different people, and a lot of that wasn’t transparent to me until we were really in the thick of real life together.”

Fans learned at the reunion that Megan went on to meet her now-boyfriend, Paul Wegman, several months after ending things with Jordan. Shortly after, Megan and Paul welcomed a baby boy after getting pregnant three months into their relationship.

While some fans have criticized Megan’s timeline, Jordan doesn’t feel it’s his place to question what happened when.

“She broke up with me. It’s none of my business,” he told Us. “We were 100 percent broken up with and she was free to date and see whoever she pleased.”

He added that he got “closure” from watching the season and going to the reunion, which Paul attended.

“It’s hard because you watch yourself fall in love and you are reminded of why you did fall in love with this person,” he said. “But no, I’m happy, healed and thriving. So I’m totally fine. I’ve gotten so many DMS, people being like, ‘Are you OK?’ I’m doing more than OK. Luca’s is doing amazing. We’re just just hanging out, enjoying life.”

Jordan credited being a father for helping him take the high road in life.

“Kids test your patience in every way imaginable. Being put on this, ‘Oh, you’re such a great guy, high horse’ [from Love Is Blind viewers] — It kind of bothers me a little bit, because I’ve made a million mistakes. I’m gonna make a million and one more,” he said. “I just try to wake up every day and do 1 percent better. And for sure, my son is a huge inspiration to how I lead my life.”

He also revealed that he hasn’t met Paul yet, but there are potential plans to get together.

“We’re talking about getting dinner,” he said. “There’s no bad blood anywhere, and nothing but love for their family.”
