The Dallas Mavericks could use the waive-and-stretch provision to open up a roster spot for Dante Exum, sources told Jake Fischer of The People's Insider.
The deadline to use the provision is on Friday at 5 PM ET.
The team is reportedly attempting to trade Olivier-Maxence Prosper but do not want to attach draft capital to complete a move.
Jaden Hardy could also get traded to make room for Exum.
Exum averaged 8.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 20 games last season.
