There’s no doubt about the standout tie from week two of the new NFL season as reigning AFC champions the Kansas City Chiefs take on the reigning NFC champions the Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl, in which the Eagles ended the Chiefs’ dreams of an unprecedented threepeat.

The weekend opens with a huge battle in Wisconsin on Thursday night as the Packers host the Commanders, both sides with every intention of going deep into the play-offs this season, and each carrying early season momentum after victories last weekend.

Both games of the Monday night double header also more than whet the appetite, kicking off with reigning AFC South champions the Houston Texans welcoming the NFC South champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the NRG Stadium.

That is followed by an AFC West divisional clash between rivals the LA Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders, both of whom got off to winning starts last weekend and sees the latest edition in the fiery Pete Carroll v Jim Harbaugh coaching rivalry.

The standout game of the Sunday 6pm action sees an all-NFC North affair as last season’s top NFC seeds the Detroit Lions travel to Chicago to take on a new-look Bears side with Ben Johnson as head coach, having spent the last six seasons working with the Lions.
