‘Not a good sign’ – Rob Gronkowski exposes Chiefs’ biggest issue ahead of Eagles clash

Rob Gronkowski is concerned about the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ahead of the Chiefs’ highly anticipated clash with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, a rematch of February’s Super Bowl, Gronkowski admitted he was surprised at the manner of KC’s Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Chargers stunned the Chiefs in Brazil clash

The Chiefs were overwhelmed by the Chargers in Sao Paolo, Brazil last week, losing 27-21 to a division rival and having no answer for Justin Herbert.

The Chargers quarterback completed 25 of 34 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns. 

It led to Kansas’ defense taking their frustrations out on each other, with pass rusher Chris Jones and linebacker Drue Tranquill getting into it at one point.

Gronkowski surprised by the Chiefs’ performance

That’s something that perturbed New England Patriots legend Gronkowski, who noticed it and criticised the Chiefs on the “Up & Adams” show on Wednesday.

“What I was surprised about was when things aren’t going their way, they start yelling at each other,” the four-time Super Bowl champion said.

“That’s not a good situation. You want to come together when you’re down to figure out why things aren’t going the way they need to go. It’s not a good sign.

“They got to get on the same page and not blame each other.”

Gronkowski, who is considered one of the NFL’s best ever tight ends, also claimed that the Chiefs ‘fold’ when they suffer setbacks.

“The Philadelphia Eagles opened the floodgates last year in the Super Bowl agains the Kansas City Chiefs,” Gronk added.

“The Eagles punched them in the face. The Chiefs didn’t know how to react to that because no one else was doing that. Well, the Los Angeles Chargers punched them in the face.

“The Chiefs were like, ‘Whoa, how do we react?’ The Eagles opened that floodgate.

“If you punch these guys in the face and come out swinging, they’re going to fold and they’re not going to be the team you saw all of last year.”

It’s safe to say that the Chiefs would have wanted to avoid playing the Eagles following a defeat.

Reigning world champions Philly overcame the Dallas Cowboys in a thrilling Week 1 contest filled with controversy including Jalen Carter’s spitting incident with Dak Prescott.

However, the star linebacker will not be suspended for the game against the Chiefs, which takes place this Sunday, instead being handed a $57,222 fine.

Travis Kelce, who Gronkowski has previously advised on how to become the ‘GOAT’ tight end, said he and his teammates will need an energetic Arrowhead to spur them on against the Eagles.

“We gotta get this thing f—ing going, man,” Kelce said Wednesday on his New Heights Podcast.

“We gotta get this train f—ing running a little bit more. The biggest thing for me is energy, man. We gotta come out with f—ing energy.

“I know Arrowhead is going to bring it, it’s going to be fun to feel that atmosphere, but unless the players are on the field doing that Arrowhead’s not going to be a fun atmosphere.

“We gotta f—ing bring it knowing that we got one of the best teams, the champs, coming in.”

With that said, it will take some performance to defeat Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, who are on a run of seven straight wins, which includes just one defeat in their last 18 games.

Against the Cowboys, Hurts completed 19 of 23 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

“I think Jalen played a really efficient game,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said.

” I thought he played really well, and he’s a big reason why we won that football game tonight, the game that he played. Again, I know that it’ll say that we threw for 152 yards. ‘What’s going on? Why didn’t we throw [more]?’

“But Jalen played really efficiently and really [well] from what I saw and made plays with his legs, his mind, and with his arm.”
