‘One giant TikTok’ – MrBeast and YouTube’s first-ever NFL broadcast is met with technical issues and mixed reviews

It’s been a tough crowd for YouTube’s first ever NFL broadcast.
While the stars are out at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo—where Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs are battling Justin Herbert‘s Los Angeles Chargers—the internet is hammering the broadcast.
The broadcast has had a distinct YouTube flair, with mega streamer MrBeast, Deestroying, and other online personalities front and center.
Fans were not having it.
“I understand this broadcast is by YouTube, but the fact that 7-year-olds like Mr. Beast & Speed’s content doesn’t mean they’ll add any interest/value to an NFL broadcast. These are not sports people and they make content for little kids. Super weird. Freaky for real sports fans,” one fan commented on X.
“Please keep Mr. Beast away from my beautiful game,” another chimed in.
“I really really don’t like this entire YouTube broadcast. Nothing about this feels like an NFL game. It feels like one giant TikTok,” one more chimed in.
Then came the complaints about the actual technical issues of the broadcast.
“Why are we adding a fake crowd cheer to the broadcast lmao? Tf we doing YouTube,” one fan pointed out.
“YouTube is having audio issues with the NFL pregame. Other videos on YouTube are normal but the NFL broadcast audio is being weird. Anyone else having this issue?” another asked.
“YouTube broadcast is such trash, they missed a live play to show a replay,” an angry fan said on X.
Fear not though, there were a few positive comments about the broadcast.
“The video quality on this YouTube broadcast is top notch.”
“This YouTube broadcast looks Super Bowl quality, not gonna lie. The cameras are awesome.”
The picture itself was very clean. Everything else? Seemed to be a problem, but then again, it’s a game broadcast on YouTube.

People will complain about anything—that’s nothing new. The broadcast was different, sure, but it wasn’t debilitating in any way.
People just don’t like change, or new things, especially when it comes to the NFL.
