Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique undergoes immediate surgery after cycling accident

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that manager Luis Enrique is set to undergo surgery after a cycling accident on Friday.
The Spaniard was treated by emergency services at the scene and will now have his fractured collarbone repaired.
In a statement, the club said: “Following a cycling accident on Friday, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was treated by the emergency services and will undergo surgery for a fractured collarbone.
“The club expresses its full support and wishes him a swift recovery. Further updates will be shared in due course.”
At this moment in time, it is unclear what has happened to Enrique.
The only information we have is what PSG have said as of now.
In the coming hours, there should be more information from the emergency services.
The important thing is that Enrique has avoided serious injury.
The French giants play Lens in their first game after the international break before kicking off their Champions League defence against Atalanta the following Wednesday.
As is stands, it’s unclear if the Spaniard will be on the sidelines for either game or if he will be in the stands or at home.
The standard recovery time from a fractured collarbone for adults is six to eight weeks.
After his surgery, Enrique will be required to wear a sling during the day, and from there, he will have a strict medical plan to follow that will include exercises.
How have PSG started the season?
From the four games PSG have played this season, they have four wins.
This includes the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur.
The French giants came back from 2-0 down to send the match to penalties, where they prevailed.
In Ligue 1, two of their displays haven’t been too convincing as they only managed 1-0 victories over Nantes and Angers.
Vitinha scored the winner in the game against Nantes and Fabian Ruiz was on target at the Parce des Princes versus Angers.
At the weekend, it was a a much more comprehensive display.
PSG annihilated Toulouse 6-3, with Joao Neves scoring an incredible hat-trick.
Ousmane Dembele bagged twice from the penalty spot, with Bradley Barcola scoring the other.
It remains to be seen what happens with Enrique, but if he is missing from any games or if he is fine to be on the sidelines.
But what can’t be denied is that PSG are an excellent team, no matter what.
