Parkston/Ethan/Hanson gymnastics wins triangular title at Chamberlain
Jan. 6—CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. — Parkston/Ethan/Hanson/Mount Vernon scored a triangular victory on Monday, Jan. 5 in a meet at Chamberlain High School. The Royals finished with a team total of 137.250, followed by Chamberlain at 133.100 and Wagner/Bon Homme at 119.550.
Chamberlain's Kylah Biggins secured the all-around title with a total of 36.800, highlighted by a strong performance on the balance beam, winning the event with a score of 9.550.
PEHMV's Addison Duba finished as the all-around runner-up with a 36.350, leading a contingent of Royals that took four of the top five all-around spots, including Piper Reichert (34.100) in third, Lily Bahmuller (33.550) in fourth, and Claire Sommer (32.950) in fifth. Duba was the individual champion on uneven bars with a score of 8.750, edging Biggins' 8.600. Duba also won the floor exercise title (9.650).
Biggins and Duba shared the top spot on vault, both recording a 9.1.
Both Chamberlain and PEHMV compete at the Hot Springs Invitational on Jan. 9 alongside the host Bison and Wall/Kadoka/Philip.
