Power ranking every edible Pop-Tarts Bowl mascot for 2025

It's time for everyone's favorite non-CFP bowl game.

While the Pop-Tarts Bowl game itself has been in existence since 1990, it only adopted the Pop-Tarts branding in 2023. Its viral marketing strategy has quickly made it one of the most anticipated games on the entire bowl calendar, in large part thanks to its conclusion, in which the edible mascot is lowered into a giant toaster and consumed by the winning team.

Georgia Tech and BYU are squaring off in the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando on Saturday, with both teams wearing Pop-Tarts-inspired helmets. They will also be joined on the field by not one but an entire platoon of edible Pop-Tarts mascots.

The mascots are divided into two teams — "Team Sprinkles" and "Team Swirls." The two Pop-Tarts teams will battle it out during the game for the right to be consumed by the winning football team.

With the Pop-Tarts rosters featuring a mix of recurring characters and newcomers, here are our official (and entirely objective) power rankings of all six mascots.

6. Frosted Cherry

It's nothing personal against Frosted Cherry, which is a very solid Pop-Tart. However, it's simply outmatched by some of the remaining contenders on this list.

5. Frosted Wild Berry

Like Frosted Cherry, Frosted Wild Berry just struggles to contend with some of the more iconic competitors on this list. However, it does bring some interesting aesthetics to the table with its purple frosting, and its status as a Pop-Tarts Bowl veteran gives it the edge over a rookie like Wild Cherry.

4. Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae

Both an iconic Pop-Tarts flavor and a returning mascot for the Pop-Tarts Bowl, this ranking feels a bit low for Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae. It's a great flavor and brings a ton of nostalgia with it. Plus, it's been there before. Still, all of that was not quite enough to crack the top three.

3. Frosted Cookies & Crème

Now, we're getting into the real heavy-hitters. It's here where I must admit that this list isn't entirely objective. I'm a biased author who loves my Frosted Cookies & Crème Pop-Tarts. If I were basing this list entirely off of my preferences, it would be No. 1 on this list. But I must set that aside, because the two team captains are absolute legends of the game.

2. Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

After making its return to the shelves following its discontinuation in 2022, Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is now making its Pop-Tarts Bowl debut in a major leadership role as it will serve as the captain of "Team Swirls." This iconic flavor is available once again thanks to popular demand, and its glorious return is enough to earn the No. 2 spot in these rankings.

1. Protein Slammin' Strawberry

Who else could have been No. 1? While it's simple, the Strawberry Pop-Tart is the most iconic member of the lineup, and its extra protein variety will serve as the captain for "Team Sprinkle." The chiseled veteran is back and hoping to be consumed once again.

Oh, and did I mention it's absolutely yolked?
