Prince Andrew Once Had ‘40 Prostitutes’ Sent to Hotel: Report
New claims about Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s past have come to light.
“In 2001, he is 41, he’s having his midlife crisis, and he basically starts chasing lots and lots of women,” royal historian Andrew Lownie claimed on the Wednesday, October 29, episode of the “Deep Dive” podcast. “He uses the excuse of his role as trade envoy, paid for by the taxpayer, to go off on these trips, but he always puts in two weeks of ‘private time.’ So, we pay for his holiday and then he goes off and does things.”
According to Lownie, Andrew, now 65, once took a trip to Thailand to celebrate then-king Rama IX’s birthday. (The former Thai monarch died in 2016.)
“Andrew is representing his country and insists on staying in a five-star hotel rather than the embassy, which he always did,” Lownie, whose unauthorized biography of Andrew was published earlier this year, further alleged, claiming that the disgraced royal had “40 prostitutes brought in the space of four days.”
Why Was Prince Andrew Stripped of His Titles? What Led to the King's Move
“This was all enabled by diplomats and others,” Lownie said, alleging that the claims were corroborated by multiple sources. “He was [also] sending a list of people he wanted to meet for his own personal business interests.”
Lownie further claimed that members of the royal family were aware of Andrew’s activities and “enabled” his actions without any consequences.
“They just turned a blind eye,” said Lownie, whose Entitled book also claimed that Andrew cheated on then-wife Sarah Ferguson during their first year of marriage. “They just had a blind spot for their son.”
Multiple outlets, including the U.K.’s LBC, Metro and Daily Mail, have reported these claims. Us Weekly has reached out for comment regarding these allegations.
Us confirmed on Thursday, October 30, that King Charles III began the process of formally removing his younger brother Andrew’s royal titles and “HRH” honorifics amid his ongoing scandal and ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Giuffre’s recently released posthumous memoir also resurfaced accusations of sexual assault against Andrew following claims that she was set up with him by an associate of Epstein’s.
Andrew initially denied Giuffre’s accusations after she first filed a lawsuit in 2019, later settling out of court for an undisclosed sum. Amid her book’s publication, Andrew planned to stop using any of his regal titles.
Why King Charles Acted Now — and Not Sooner — Against Brother Prince Andrew
“In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” Andrew said in a statement shared with Us earlier this month. “I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.”
He continued, “With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
As Charles, 76, stripped his sibling of his royal associations, he also served Andrew “formal notice” to vacate Royal Lodge and move into an alternative private accommodation.
“These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him,” a statement from Buckingham Palace reads. “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
