Real Housewives of Potomac’s Gizelle Bryant Reacts to Mia Thornton’s Arrest
Gizelle Bryant doesn’t appear to have much sympathy for former Real Housewives of Potomac costar Mia Thornton after her arrest.
“This is called life. It seems like life is lifing for her. And when life starts lifing, you’ve got to make good decisions, gotta make great choices,” Bryant, 55, shared on the Monday, November 25, episode of the “Reasonably Shady” podcast. “I think she’s making some poor choices.”
On November 19, Thornton, 41, was arrested for allegedly stealing $11,000 worth of furniture from a condo she had been renting in Atlanta, Georgia.
A police report reviewed by Us Weekly claimed radios, TVs, DVD players and other goods were some of the belongings allegedly taken. Thornton hasn’t been officially charged yet and hasn’t entered a plea. Us has reached out to her team for comment on Bryant’s latest podcast.

“She is not on my prayer list,” Bryant said. “Why is she taking furniture? It don’t make no sense. Let me tell you, I’m calling Jacqueline [Blake] over the weekend. We know she love spilling the tea.”
Thornton and Bryant appeared on The Real Housewives of Potomac together from season 6 to season 9. In April, Thornton announced she was leaving the franchise after relocating to Atlanta.
Blake was also a frequent guest on The Real Housewives of Potomac and was known as Thornton’s closest girlfriends. The pair, however, started experiencing ups and downs before season 9 came to an end.
During Monday’s podcast episode, former Real Housewives of Potomac star Robyn Dixon had more sympathy for her former colleague.

“I’m sorry that she’s put herself in this situation,” Dixon, 46, said. “She got a divorce. She left town for a man, which kind of ended up being the demise of her on the show, which I think she probably had planned to be on the show for a while. She moves to Atlanta for this man. She breaks up with this man. … I just feel like she’s searching for something and just something’s not stable in her life.”
Bryant replied, “Robyn is always feeling sorry for people. I’m here for you on that.”
News broke in September 2023 that Mia and her estranged husband, Gordon Thornton, were separating after 11 years of marriage. The pair welcomed two children during their union and vowed to remain good coparents after their split. (Mia also has another child from a previous relationship.)
While Mia was most recently linked to Atlanta-based radio host Incognito — better known as Inc. — they split at the end of 2024.

Following her arrest, Thornton returned to Instagram on Monday to celebrate her birthday. At the same time, she appeared to address the headlines surrounding her personal life.
“This past week reminded me of the importance of staying grounded, especially when life feels loud,” she wrote via Instagram. “I’m stepping into another year with clarity, accountability and gratitude. Challenges don’t define me — how I rebuild does.”
In a separate post, Thornton added, “I’m embracing this next chapter with softness and strength. Life will test you, but grace and self-awareness always win. Thank you to everyone who’s shown love as I continue to grow, learn and elevate.”
