'Succession' Star Nicholas Braun Arrested for DUI Over Labor Day Weekend

Succession star Nicholas Braun has found himself in a legal situation.

The Carroll County jail in New Hampshire confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, September 2, that the actor was arrested for DUI and released on Saturday, August 30.

According to TMZ, who was first to report the news, Braun, 37, was locked up for about an hour before walking free on his own recognizance.

The outlet reported that a mugshot of the actor is not expected to be released because the police camera wasn’t working.

Braun is best known for his performance as Cousin Greg on HBO Max’s prestige series Succession.

His role earned him three Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category. The show ultimately wrapped in May 2023 after four seasons.

Since Succession came to an end, Braun has continued to land roles in projects such as Splitsville and Saturday Night. He is also expected to appear alongside Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson in the 2026 thriller Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie.

Because Braun keeps much of his personal life private, it’s unclear why he was in New Hampshire over Labor Day weekend.

In March, however, the actor gave fans a rare glimpse into his romance with girlfriend Hyunji Ward.

“HBD to my sweet sweet DARLING of a girlfriend!!!” he wrote via Instagram on March 26. “You are the absolute joy of my life. You make me my best self!! Like when you said that I could pull off this shirt full of forks. You were right. Love you dearly .”

The pair first sparked romance rumors when they were spotted at HBO and Max’s post-Emmys party in January 2024. That same month, the duo seemingly confirmed their relationship when Braun gave Ward a kiss after Succession won Best Drama Series at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Prior to meeting Ward, Braun gave a glimpse into his romantic life in a candid interview with The New York Times.

In October 2021, the Emmy nominee said he had never “been in a long-term relationship ever.”

“I do yearn for it and yet I’m incapable of it,” he told the publication. “I go toward it and then I hit a wall where I’m like, ‘I can’t go farther into this. I’ve got to exit.’ I do believe it’ll happen at the right time with the right person.”
