Super Bowl winners, MVP, bold predictions and who ends up with the No 1 pick – talkSPORT predicts the NFL season

The 2025 NFL season is finally here.
With it comes predictions and the US Sports team at talkSPORT have many. Who will win the Super Bowl? How about MVP? Which team is already on the clock for the first overall pick? What’s the boldest prediction you can come up with?
Who will win Super Bowl LX?
Ravens over Packers. Micah Parsons is the piece to make Jeff Hafley’s defense really sing, but it’s the Ravens year for me – the offense is as loaded as it’s been, Year 3 under Todd Monken and Lamar has gotten better & better and I expect Zach Orr’s defense to take a step forward in Year 2, particularly with the investment on the back end. Will Gavin
Ravens over Eagles. Lamar Jackson has to play in a Super Bowl someday. Jalen Hurts has a title to defend for Philly. It’s time to crown Action Jackson on the world’s biggest annual stage. Brian T. Smith
Ravens over Packers. This is the year that Lamar Jackson and Baltimore get over the hump, barring significant injury. Both the Eagles and Lions are the strongest outfits on paper, there is something in the Green Bay Packers for me in the NFC. Kerrie Jacobs-Bryant
Bengals over Lions. Cincinnati will hoist the Lombardi for the first time in franchise history as Joe Burrow and company take down the Lions 27-24, vanquishing all the demons once and for all. Jack Savage
Chiefs over Packers. The Packers drafted a receiver in the first round for the first time in two decades (look away now Aaron Rodgers) and then went and got Micah Parsons. They will just edge the returning Eagles in the NFC Championship. It’s enough to make the big game but Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs send the future Mr Swift off into the sunset with a fourth crown. Jamie Gordon
Bills over Eagles. Ignore the talk about Lamar Jackson – Josh Allen is the man to beat in the AFC. The reigning MVP is at the peak of his powers with arguably the most complete Bills roster he’s ever had. After two painful AFC Championship Game defeats, the third time will be the charm for Buffalo, who will beat the Chiefs to advance to February’s big game. The defending champion Eagles will await at Levi’s Stadium, where Allen will break Saquon Barkley and co’s hearts and do what Jim Kelly failed to do on four consecutive occasions in the early 90s – deliver a first Lombardi Trophy for Bills Mafia. Joshua Rogers
Bills over Bucs. There are four quarterback superstars in the AFC – Mahomes, Burrow, Allen and Jackson but only one will emerge to fight it out for a Lombardi – and that will be Josh Allen, who sees off Jackson and the Ravens to set up a date with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who will dominate the poor NFC South, and leave the fancied Lions, Eagles and Packers standing. Perhaps not the most glamourous Super Bowl, but two well built teams – which means the best quarterback wins – the wait is over for Buffalo. Paul Prenderville
Bills over Commanders. The Jayden Daniels hype is real, people. Following a stellar rookie season, Washington’s young quarterback is going to pick up where he left off, and drive his team one step further than last year – all the way to the Super Bowl. He will inspire the Commanders to victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in an NFC title game repeat, stunning the football world before lining up at Levi’s Stadium for Washington’s first shot at glory since 1992. Just as it was 33 years ago, the Bills will be standing in their way. With Josh Allen on their sideline, Buffalo will finally secure Super Bowl glory of their own. Sorry, Jayden. Oliver Browning
Who will be the regular season MVP
MVP voters need a new man to get behind in 2025. Enter: Brock Purdy, who people forget was pretty fantastic in 2023. The 49ers QB completed the 2023 regular season leading the league in passer rating, total quarterback rating, and yards gained per attempt, while finishing fourth in MVP voting. The 49ers receiver room is a worry, but if they can win 11-12 games and clinch the NFC’s No.1 or No.2 seed (they have the easiest schedule of any team for the 2025 season), don’t be surprised to see Mr. Irrelevant’s name garner serious MVP consideration. Joshua Rogers
Whilst I don’t like a lot of the Chiefs offseason moves, this year is the Patrick Mahomes revenge tour – I think it’s going to be about proving he’s the best quarterback in football, arguably the most talented we’ve ever seen. After 3 years of dink & dunk, he’s about to let it rip. Will Gavin
It will be Joe Burrow. He was the best QB in the NFL last year. He can’t fix a poor defense but no one spins a better ball. Brian T. Smith
Josh Allen may end up with the Lombardi, but it’s Lamar Jackson who claims the MVP award for the third time in seven seasons – joining Tom Brady and Brett Favre on three, one behind Aaron Rodgers. Paul Prenderville
I expect Joe Shiesty (Burrow) to deliver. But with that being said, I am still riding with the Flock’s finest Lamar Jackson. Action Jackson was five votes away from claiming his third MVP title after a 2024 campaign in which he had a career-high 41 touchdowns to just four interceptions – a league-best. With Derrick Henry in the backfield alongside him, this may put him at a disadvantage, but he is such box office entertainment, that may sway the voters this year. Kerrie Jacobs-Bryant
Jordan Love. Quarterbacks dominate the MVP award every season, and this will be no different. But forget Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, it’s Jordan Love’s time to shine. He will light up Lambeau Field and eclipse even the effort of Aaron Rodgers’ best MVP-winning season in Green and Yellow – and there were four of those – with more than 5,000 yards. Oliver Browning
It’s the year of Joe Burrow as he throws for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns and takes the crown as the unequivocal best quarterback in the league. Jack Savage
Joe Burrow took the passing yards title in 2024 and will earn his first MVP in 2025. The Bengals will have to score — a lot — to even have a chance to make a postseason run. Arguably the most important player to his team of any contender outside the Chiefs. Jamie Gordon
Who will end with the first overall pick?
The Cleveland Browns are doing everything they can to be the worst team in football. They have Jacksonville’s first-round pick in 2026. Shad Khan thinks his roster is up to the job this year. He said that in 2024 and went 4-13. If Travis Hunter isn’t the next big thing, the overpay may come back to bite them. Jamie Gordon
Cleveland Browns. They say if you have more than one quarterback, you don’t have a quarterback. Well, the Browns head into 2025 with three on their roster, and another on the PUP list. Despite a wealth of, let’s call it ‘potential’, in rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel, the Browns are still going to suck with veteran Joe Flacco as their Week 1 starter. By the time either of those young bucks get a shot, Cleveland’s season will already be over, and they’ll find themselves losing week after week to top the infamous tankathon table. Still, the bright side is that Arch Manning will be waiting for them in the 2026 draft…maybe. Oliver Browning
It will be the New Orleans Saints. Arch Manning has a huge decision to make. The Saints are praying he says yes to the NFL. Brian T. Smith
I considered the Browns, but the least talented team in the NFL, and most in desperate need of a reset are the New Orleans Saints. As long as they treat it like the project that it is, then the chance to get their QB of the future should be one they relish, despite the heartbreak. Will Gavin
I can see the Indianapolis Colts or the Miami Dolphins slipping ‘up’ the list particularly if QB issues cause them concern, but ultimately neither will be quite bad enough to knock New Orleans and their 3-13 record out of No 1 spot. Paul Prenderville
Easy. It’s going to be the New Orleans Saints. The franchise has looked in disarray since Drew Brees’ retirement, and with back-up quarterbacks at one and two on the depth chart, I can’t see them tacking on many wins, if any, this season. Kerrie Jacobs-Bryant
New Orleans Saints come on down. They will hold off the Cleveland Browns just enough to secure the first overall pick and draft Archie Manning in a full circle moment and nod to his grandfather, and franchise legend, Arch Manning. Jack Savage
One bold prediction for this season
I’m bringing back my 2025 bold prediction – the first NFL receiver with over 2000 yards will happen this year. Beyond the obvious names – Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson – I quite fancy Houston Texans Nico Collins, if he manages to stay healthy they’ll be throwing a lot and he’s a top 5 receiver to me. Will Gavin
The 2025 season represents the busiest international calendar in the NFL’s history. Dublin and Madrid join Sao Paolo, Germany and London to bring the total up to seven games across the globe. Melbourne and Mexico will be on the agenda in 2026 – and before the season is out, another destination will be confirmed as the league tentacles spread further still. Paul Prenderville
The New York Giants will be much better than people think, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Whether it’s that Russell Wilson has a revival or rookie Jaxon Dart takes over and takes the league by storm. Maybe it’s that the Giants will lead the league in sacks with Abdul Carter joining an already talented defense, nothing is ever as it seems in New York, and I very much believe that we will be shocked by them again in one way or another. Kerrie Jacobs-Bryant
Jerry Jones resigns as Cowboys GM. The Micah Parsons trade will break Dallas’ back, Jones finally realizes it’s time to give up a little control, while still owning the richest team in the sports world. Brian T. Smith
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will miss the postseason. Forget making their fourth Super Bowl in a row, Travis Kelce is going to get a head start on retirement when the Chiefs season ends in Week 18. Jack Savage
Relaxation of rules spells disaster for Raiders NFL rivals. After being barred from information-gathering production meetings in his rookie season as a Fox broadcaster, Tom Brady will be present in those moving forwards. The seven-time Super Bowl winner is free to speak with coaches and players across the league, and can finally be the info-plundering, eye-patch-wearing Raider that Las Vegas are desperate for. Even if he’s not on the field, Brady could still be an important piece for the Raiders in 2025. Oliver Browning
Travis Hunter starts the season as a wide receiver who helps out at cornerback and ends it as a defensive back with a few packages on offense. The Heisman champion is a ridiculous athlete but I don’t think he’s at the same level as Tetairoa McMillan, Emeka Egbuka or Matthew Golden as a pass-catcher. The Jags already have Brian Thomas Jr. and need help on the other side of the ball. Jamie Gordon
Caleb Williams becomes the first Bear to pass for over 4,000 yards. Remarkably, Chicago remains the only NFL team to have never achieved this milestone, with Erik Kramer (3,838 yards in 1995) and Jay Cutler (3,812 yards in 2014) going closest. In a Bears offense revamped by former Lions savant Ben Johnson, Williams will become the first to do it, in his sophomore season no less. Joshua Rogers
