“The first conversation” – Liam Rosenior opens up on potential new signings at Chelsea
Liam Rosenior has insisted he wants to assess the current squad before deciding on any potential future signings.
Last summer the Blues once again heavily invested in the squad, and made five new attacking signings as the forward line underwent a major revamp.
The January window is in full swing and inevitably the Blues have been linked with a number of players, but it’s believed Chelsea will be quiet this month.
Liam Rosenior speaks on potential Chelsea signings
It’s been reported Chelsea would do business were the right opportunity to present itself, but full focus appears to be on the summer window.
Rosenior has only just arrived at the club, and whether a change of coach means Chelsea change their plans for this month is unclear.

The squad clearly needs strengthening, and fans would love to see signings made, and Rosenior has spoken about that possibility.
“The first conversation I had with the guys [the club’s hierarchy] was I want to assess the most important players, which are the ones who are here. Normally you get good surprises if you give people a chance,” he said as quoted by BBC Sport.
“I had some really, really good surprises in the game against Charlton. Yes, we’re in January, and yes, we want the club to be as successful as possible in the short term.
“But I also think sometimes the answers lie within the building and not outside. So I’ll make a decision on that with the guys. Probably later in the week when I’ve seen everyone.”
Midfield the main priority in the summer
Whilst Chelsea could do something in January, the main priority is clearly to strengthen the squad in the summer window.
