Turkiye vs Spain predictions and betting tips – Spain to make it two wins from two

European champions Spain will be aiming to make it two wins from two in World Cup qualifying when they face Turkiye in Group E on Sunday night.
Los Roja eased to 3-0 win over Bulgaria in their opening match on Thursday. However, a trip to the Anatolia region to face the Turks will be a far more difficult challenge for Luis de la Fuente’s team.

Turkiye vs Spain predictions
Turkiye kicked off their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-2 win away at Georgia on Thursday night.
A goal from Mert Müldür along with a brace from Kerem Aktürkoğlu, saw the visitors race into a 3-0 lead after 52 minutes.
Zuriko Davitashvili pulled one for the hosts just after the hour mark, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scoring what turned out to be a consolation eight minutes into stoppage time. But it wasn’t enough to prevent the visitors leaving with all three points.
Vincenzo Montella’s team won four of their six League B matches in the recent Nations League, finishing second in the table to Wales. In the playoffs they defeated Hungary 6-1 on aggregate, ensuring qualification to the top league.
In their summer friendly matches, Turkiye won 2-1 away to the USA and lost 1-0 to Mexico in North Carolina.
Spain kicked off their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win away at Bulgaria on Thursday night. As per usual, the current European champions dominated every aspect of the match.
Luis de la Fuente’s team recorded 78 percent of the possession, with 24 attempts on goal, 12 of which were on target.
The three goalscorers were Mikel Oyarzabal, Marc Cucurella and Mikel Merino. All three goals came in the first half of what turned out to be a comfortable win.
Including Thursday’s three goals, the Spanish have now scored 15 goals in their last five matches and conceded 11.
Sunday’s opponents Turkiye are ranked 27th in the world, 25 places behind the No.2 ranked Spain, who many believe to be the best team on the planet. Along with the Spanish, the Turks will be up against Georgia and Bulgaria in Group E.
It will be no surprise to see that Spain are the favourites to win the group. The current European champions are 1/7, with Turkiye at 11/2. Georgia and Bulgaria are both 25/1 – all odds are taken from bet365.
Turkiye are 1/5 in the betting to finish in the top two and at the very least make the playoffs. To put their odds into perspective, Spain is 1/50 for a top two finish.
Turkiye vs Spain betting tips
Turkiye have only ever defeated Spain twice in history, with their last win coming way back in 1967. Given the current strength of the Spanish team, the hosts wait to end that barren spell without a victory looks set to continue. Our Turkiye vs Spain match betting tips follow:
Spain look too strong
Scoring goals has for a long time been Spain’s Achilles heel. However, with the Euro 2024 winners having found the net in their last ten matches, they seem to have found a way of overcoming their lack of a top class goalscorer.
If we exclude their Nations League final penalty shootout defeat to Portugal, Spain are on a 21 match unbeaten run dating back to March 2024. This includes their Euro 2024 win.
Turkiye will provide a stiff challenge for the group favourites, but we think that Luis de la Fuente’s team will find a way to win. The Spanish are just 1/2 to win. Add over 1.5 match goals to the bet, and it boosts the wager to 8/11.

An exciting showdown looks on the cards
Built around Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler, Turkiye head coach Vincenzo Montella has produced an entertaining team that are happy to go toe-to-toe with any opposition.
At home in their own hostile surroundings, we expect to see the Turks take the game to Spain and have a real go at defeating the Euro 2024 winners.
However, Spain aren’t the European champions for nothing. They will know how to contain the Turks and will no doubt feel the best way to keep the crowd quiet is by keeping possession and finding the back of the net.
We do also see the hosts scoring. Spain has been far from watertight at the back in recent months. Their clean sheet against Bulgaria on Thursday was their first since a 0-0 draw with Serbia in September 2024 – Spain’s opening match of their Nations League campaign.
Over 2.5 goals alone is 8/13. However, as we can see Turkiye also scoring, we can combine over 2.5 goals with a yes in both teams to score for the better odds.

Oyarzabal can make his mark again
Mikel Oyarzabal scored Spain’s opening goal in their 3-0 win over Bulgaria on Thursday.
The lead striking role in the Spain national team is up for grabs, and at the moment, the Real Sociedad forward is staking a claim to make it his own.
Alvaro Morata was an unused substitute for Spain in their opening Group E win. And he will be hoping to reclaim the role of lead striker in the national team. This gives Oyarzabal greater incentive to find the net again when he faces the Turks.
