UCLA's two-sport star Megan Grant celebrates the Bruins national title

After capturing the program’s first NCAA championship, the UCLA Bruins got a special visit from teammate Megan Grant after picking up the title-clinching win over South Carolina. Grant is a two-sport star who helped UCLA’s softball team sweep Indiana this weekend.

For her senior season, Grant joined the Bruins softball team, resuming her basketball career but this time at the collegiate level. Grant wasn’t a major producer for UCLA’s basketball team, but she certainly added to the team’s chemistry.

Grant was an undersized big for UCLA at 5’10” but she used her strength to pick up six points and four rebounds in 33 minutes this season. Due to UCLA often blowing out opponents, Grant got to appear in 14 games for UCLA.

The decision to play basketball certainly hasn’t hampered her ability on the softball diamond. Grant is second in the country with 25 home runs, one away from matching her 2025 total in 29 less games. Last year Grant was a First Team All-American and she appears destined for another selection this season.

Grant’s slugging has been tremendous but her all-around game has taken another step this season too. Her batting average went up from .376 to .495 with her on base percentage sitting at .687, which leads the entire country.

As if her skills on the softball field and basketball court wasn’t enough, Grant also showed off her dancing ability after scoring her first collegiate basket. Grant’s dancing was contagious, as UCLA head coach Cori Close replicated the dance postgame and then again after Sunday's win.
