Warriors Prepared To Keep Jonathan Kuminga Past Deadline If No Trade Materializes
The Golden State Warriors have not made any substantial progress in trade conversations on a deal involving Jonathan Kuminga. Kuminga becomes trade eligible on January 15th and the Sacramento Kings remain the most interested team.
Sources from the Warriors have said the team is prepared to keep Kuminga past the trade deadline if no deal to their liking materializes. However, Kuminga has played only 10 minutes over the past month as he remains firmly out of Steve Kerr's rotation. Kuminga has appeared on 18 games and has averaged 11.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.8 minutes.
The Warriors hold a team option on Kuminga for the 2026-27 season worth $24.3 million.
