What Big Brother’s Katherine Told Rylie After Her Eviction

Big Brother 27 houseguests Katherine Woodman and Rylie Jeffries have spoken to each other since their evictions as both deal with the harsh reality that hit them when they left the house.

While seemingly the entire cast viewed their showmance in a positive light, live feed viewers largely had a different opinion, accusing Rylie, 27, of controlling and at times verbally abusive behavior toward Katherine, 23.

“We have had an opportunity to talk to each other, more so just checking in with each other, seeing if we’re both doing OK,” Katherine said in a story for Screen Rant, published Tuesday, September 2. “There was a lot of negativity surrounding, I think, the both of us with the situation, so he gets it better than anyone else really that’s exited so far, because we were the two in the situation. So we’re just checking in for now.”

Former houseguests have long talked about the difficult adjustment period coming out of the house as they are bombarded with everything they missed when cut off from the outside world. For now, Katherine said, the two are just making sure each is adjusting to regular life. They haven’t discussed what sort of future their relationship holds.

“We’re just making sure that both of us are dealing with everything post-eviction in a good way,” she said. “And just making sure that we’re trying to spend each day being happy. Because it can be … it’s hard leaving the house, for sure.”

During their time in the house together, live feed cameras captured Rylie seeming to pressure Katherine into kissing him and sleep in the same bed as him. He was also heard making comments like, “I’m being with you outside of this whether you like it or not.”

After Rylie’s eviction on August 21, he did not participate in the normal round of exit interviews. He broke his silence one week later — the day of Katherine’s eviction — and defended his actions.

“I understand how things may have come across, but I speak with passion,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I love with my whole heart, and maybe that intensity was misunderstood. I would never intentionally disrespect anyone, especially Katherine.”

“It’s heartbreaking to be misunderstood,” he continued. “People online don’t know me, but my friends, family, fellow houseguests and Katherine do, and that’s what’s important. I spent every day in that house with people who truly know me, who see the real me: someone who’s loving, funny and full of heart. It hurts to be painted as aggressive when all I’ve ever done is lead with passion and care.”

Big Brother airs on CBS on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can watch live feeds from the house anytime on Paramount+.
