Who is opting out of 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl for Georgia Tech and BYU?

The 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl is upon us, as Georgia Tech and BYU will battle over the glorious football toaster trophy at 3:30 ET in Orlando, Florida.

While player availability for non-College Football Playoff bowl games has been hit or miss of late, the Pop-Tarts Bowl will take place with both teams nearly at full strength. No major players have been reported to opt out, though each team has a wrinkle to work through.

BYU's leading rusher, L.J. Martin, will miss the game after undergoing shoulder surgery, while Georgia Tech will have quarterbacks coach Chris Weinke calling plays after offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner departed to join Jon Sumrall's staff at Florida.

For the Pop-Tarts Bowl, the fun goes well beyond the game. Both teams will be wearing Pop-Tart helmets, and fans can vote for which group of edible mascots (Team Sprinkles or Team Swirls) gets eaten by the winning team.

Georgia Tech and BYU have both enjoyed strong seasons, finishing 9-3 and 11-2, respectively. Here's a tracker for players on each team opting out.
