In a somewhat surprising move, TCU junior guard Donovyn Hunter will opt for the transfer portal after two years with the Horned Frogs. A starter during the 2025-26 season and a key bench guard during the 2024-25 season, Hunter appeared in 72 games with 56 starts in her time at TCU. The 6-foot guard from Medford, Oregon began her career at Oregon State, where she was a Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honoree before signing with TCU.

One of the team’s best defenders, Hunter appeared in 37 games with 21 starts and averaged 5.8 points, 2.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Her time as a starter and a key reserve helped the Horned Frogs go to the Elite Eight for the first time in team history. Returning as a full-time starter as a junior, Hunter averaged 9.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 35 games played. She shot 45.2% from the field and 32.5% from 3-point range in her time with the Horned Frogs. TCU once again made the Elite Eight during the 2025-26 season.

Hunter’s departure marks the third player to depart for TCU, which has seen freshman center Emily Hunter and senior forward Aaliyah Roberson enter the portal. The Horned Frogs are losing multiple graduate students such as Olivia Miles, Marta Suarez, Maddie Scherr and Natalie Mazurek. Seniors like Kennedy Basham, Veronica Sheffey and Taylor Bigby are also moving on.
